Q: Why should my child take gymnastics?
Q: What are the advantages to signing up more than one day a week?
A: Your child will get twice the exposure to gymnastics that they would get once a week. This will give you child a better opportunity to succeed, and show the benefits from gymnastics faster than they would once a week.
Q: I see your gym offers Trampoline & Tumbling Programs and Artistic Gymnastics Programs, Which would you, recommend for my child?
A: Which program depends on what your child likes to do? We also have athletes that participate in both programs. Those children that love to tumble and bounce should sign up for a trampoline and tumbling class. Those children that enjoy swinging and climbing should join an artistic class.
Q: What is the Early Tuition Deadline / Enrollment Guarantee?
A: It is the last day in which you get the early tuition rate, and that Preston Gymnastics Academy will hold you spot for the next session. After that date you spot is free for someone to enroll in.
Q: Does Preston Gymnastics Academy have a refund policy?
A: Preston Gymnastics Academy only refunds tuition during the first month 100% money back guarantee.
Q: If my child gets hurt in or out of the gym and is unable to participate do I get a refund?
A: No, however the remaining classes will be credited towards another class, super-session or open gym.
Q: Do you follow Montgomery County Public Schools for weather closings?
A: No we do not, please call the gym(301-948-0827.) If the weather is too bad for you to drive feel free to take advantage of our make-up policy.
Q: Why is my child not allowed to wear jewelry?
A: Wearing jewelry is a safety hazard to the athlete, coaches, and equipment. All Jewelry should be taken off before class. Stud earrings may be worn.
Q: What is the Trampoline and Tumbling Team?
A: The Trampoline & Tumbling Team is a team that participates year round. The athletes will compete in Power Tumbling, Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline and possible synchronized trampoline. Athletes participate in state, regional and national competitions.
Q: How do you get on the Trampoline and Tumbling Team?
A: You would have to try out for the Trampoline Team. There are a set of skill requirements for each level and age. In addition you have to be prepared to come to all practices, clinics, and meets. If you are interested you should check out the T&T pages and check the try-out section.
Q: What is a team-prep class?
A: A team preparation class has a different curriculum than our standard classes. More emphasis is put on skill development, behavior, strength, and flexibility. The class is designed to smoothly transfer athletes to a competitive team.
Q: If you take a team-prep class are you guaranteed a spot on team?
A: No, the class is meant to prepare the athletes; they are not required or guaranteed a spot on team. All athletes have to try out for a competitive team.
Q: Why is your Mom, Dad & Me classes a ½ hour when most gyms in the area have them at 45 minutes?
A: At Preston Gymnastics Academy we are introducing your 18 month- 3 year old to their first semi structure gymnastics lesson. Most children in this age bracket and skill level can only productively make it through a 30 minute lesson.
Q: What is the difference between the Boys Artistic team and the Trampoline and Tumbling Team?
A: The Trampoline and Tumbling Team competes four events; Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline, Power Tumbling, and Synchronized Trampoline. Age is usually not a factor for Trampoline and Tumbling Students.
Boys Artistic Gymnastics compete on six events(Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, & Horizontal Bar) and all-around. For the most part if athletes want to make it all the way to college gymnastics and be competitive they should start between 6-10 years old. Please note it is quite possible to do gymnastics successfully at an older age, however if may be difficult to get to optional gymnastics or a college level.
Q: How many make-ups are you allowed per session?
A: Preston Gymnastics Academy allows three make-ups per 12 week sessions. They may be made up during the make-up week or exchange for an open gym coupon.
Q: Do you take credit cards over the phone or web?
A: At this time we currently do not take credit card over the phone or web.
Q: What types of payments does Preston Gymnastics Academy take?
A: Cash, Check, Visa or Mastercard.
Q: Does Preston Gymnastics Academy only cater to Boys?
A: NO, we actually cater to Boys, Girls, Trampoline & Tumbling, Preschool, School Age, and even adults.
Q: How much experience do I have to have to take the Adult class?
A: You don’t have to have any experience; however you do have to consult your physician before trying the class.
Q: Does Preston Gymnastics Academy offer any kind of sibling discounts?
A: Yes there is 10% off any sibling enrolled in the class programs.
